Mystical and Mysterious Introduction

Published on November 23, 2005

Most people who start their travels on their spiritual path, eventually come to the place where they begin to seek the answers to the mystery of why we’re here and what we are. This usually leads to lots of classes, courses, workshops, personal stories, and books on subjects related to the self, the universe, the miraculous, and spirituality. I’ve been there, although I was very discerning about who and what I was listening to and studying. My own inner knowledge has been with me since birth and I’ve been able to filter through the more integrous ones, leaving the less integrous or downright foolish ones behind. You may call it intuitive. I call it being in touch with Spiritual Reality or Truth. At least I was a discerning spirit. I seldom followed what seemed weird or strange. I know now I was capable of discriminating between the wheat and the chaff, so to speak.

As an avid reader and student of literature, classes, and workshops related to the spiritual and religious, I’ve seen my share of authors and teachers whose teachings were at best, remarkably giving and spiritually advanced, as well as entertaining, and at worst, complete fabrication. I’ve read so many of the books on how to expand one’s consciousness, mine
should probably reach the four corners of the planet by now. There are too many, teaching the naive, falsehoods, for way too much personal gain. Truth is free. The Truth, however, is that when one’s calibrated level of consciousness rises so does their levels of psychic abilities and all the rest that goes with it.

This website is not given to psychic readings, communicating with the deceased, claims of specialness, stories of the “miraculous”,* or the ability to channel entities from somewhere else. All knowledge posted here is retrieved through integrous sites or Divine Guidance. There is an infinite amount of material out there and on the web to keep people searching for the rest of their lives. There are more subjects related to the paranormal, mystery schools, strange modalities, than one could possibly imagine. I can only say to follow your own inner wisdom, when it comes to seeking answers to the unanswerable. The “path” to raising your consciousness level can be as simple or as complex as you wish to make it. I prefer to keep it simple.

My knowing is that the mysterious and mystical is beyond what our physical senses could possibly conceive of. It’s a good idea to keep oneself in the physical world until a better understanding of the non physical becomes clear to you. Truth shines brightly through Divine Knowledge and testing with The MAP of Consciousness and Consciousness Research.

For me the mystical and mysterious will always be related to Divinity, The Infinite Presence, or The Field, merely because I cannot explain them in the highest terms of what they are in physical language. It’s impossible to explain the unexplainable in linear terms, and that’s what any human language is… a Newtonian paradigm.

So what can a spiritual seeker seek, in terms of furthering their journey? One surely could begin by sifting through all the knowledge available to us, but it would take a very long time and there is more fiction out there than Truth. A better idea would be to keep one’s consciousness up, and learn more about AK (Applied Kinesiology) and testing for Truth.

There are true spiritual teachers out there who will lead you in the direction of God, with honesty. Don’t try so hard that the true messages escape you. Ask others on the path you know, who are trustworthy and comfortable to be with. You can also e mail me or watch my site for integrous spiritual teachers (past and present), articles, books, or authors. If I review them I will always calibrate for integrous levels of consciousness. I also promise not to lead my readers in any direction that leads you away from Absolute Truth.
(See The Supernatural for further discussion.)

*I often get e mails regarding claims of miraculous healings, visions and the like. People have a “need” to believe in miracles. (and any neediness is a barrier to enlightenment) The biggest miracle is you are here. Faith, prayer and the power of Higher Consciousness can heal, but not all the time. Karma also plays a large factor in our lives, and as Dr. David Hawkins says, “Our time of death is set at birth“. We have to trust The Infinite Presence. We aren’t privy as to the “why” of how it works, but only that it does. The miraculous is often commonplace when your intrinsic level of consciousness has risen. The Infinite is Absolute in its’ Power. See Astral Plane*

Dr David Hawkins and Spiritual Traps

Published on November 26, 2005

Dr. Hawkins speaks of spiritual traps. This is very important, not only to me personally, but to naive spiritual seekers. Right now because of the Doctor’s groundbreaking work, there are people out there who are charging to calibrate you on an ongoing basis… sort of a calibration subscription, based on how often you want it. There are also “spiritual teachers” who will impart teachings and then test before and after levels of consciousness. It appears they are turning out enlightenment for a fee. Dr. Hawkins’ work is too important to be adopted for less than integrous reasons, but like all gifts, it will be misused by some.*

This brings me to “other” spiritual modalities. If you are practicing AK (Applied Kinesiology), it’s advised to check the calibration of who you are following and their teachings. It may very well be false. There shouldn’t be rules put on spirituality. One need not give their life savings away, do strange rituals, follow any dietary restrictions, wear strange clothing, check with their “Guru” before arising in the morning, have blind faith in claims of alien abductions and knowing things through people from other planets, having to get to a particular “holy” place for anything to happen, or any other rules which are constraining or strange. Although I know there are wonderful mediums on the planet that do great work (with those who have crossed), there are so very many others who are complete frauds. Unfortunately some have very high exposure and calibrate less than truth.

The spiritual teacher need not have anyone speaking through them, or giving advice to others through divination (fortune telling). All of the highest spiritual people (i.e. Jesus, Buddah, Krishna) on the planet never claimed to be channeling anyone from some “other” domain.** There are many who have built huge followings using fallacious premises. “Blind faith” continually repeats itself. (especially with group mentality) Spiritual information can be pulled from “The Field,” when you are aligned with Infinite Consciousness. It is not exclusive, but inclusive. Caution is advised in order not to follow those who bring false information from lower astral realms. This practice can be dangerous (leading to guru worship and cultism). Unless that person is integrous and trained to “know” the difference between Higher Self and “ego” self, this can be the beginnings of delusional thinking. It also helps if the practitioner or teacher, and you, have a sense of humor about all of this. Better to ask and surrender to God. The more desperate one becomes to “know” something, the more one can be taken advantage of.

The higher your consciousness becomes, the more you can see what is true on your own. You can experience the miraculous when the intention is there to become aligned. You will then find the right teacher for you. It requires an enormous commitment. Once you are on the path, there is no turning back. It’s the most wondrous journey of your life.

Love

Published on November 25, 2005

“Love is the child of fullness and emptiness”
Plato

Love
As a poet I’m adept at expressing feelings of love in many terms. Love, however, has the capability of being the most complex of emotions. There are as many feelings about love as there are souls that occupy the planet. One can exhaust or become exhausted by the number of emotions as well as expressions surrounding love. In Care of the Soul, Thomas Moore writes, “We always expect love to be healing and whole, and then are astonished to find that it can create hollow gaps and empty failures.”

There are many forms love takes. There is the love of self, love of our children, our spouses and partners, cherished friends, parents and relatives. There is the love of our animals, work, nature, life and God.

One day we love, experiencing the ecstasy and the dream, the next we are forsaken through desertion, absence, loneliness, betrayal, or death. We are also capable of losing faith or trust in love. We compromise our own love of self through unforgiving acts. Where is the place that occupies the space where that love has gone?

Self imposed and societal restrictions regarding love hold us back from loves’ full expression. Love becomes possessive, guarded, exclusive, jealous, angry, and often turns to its opposite… hatred. Egos get in the way. Agreements are broken and expectations aren’t met. Marriages fall apart statistically in increasing numbers and relationships are born and die. Friends become enemies and families stop speaking to one another.

Is there a solution to making love last? As spirit, we are capable of loving many people and things in our lives all at the same time. Humans are multidimensional beings capable of multidimensional or multiple love. Coming from a place of Universal love, how could we possibly deny we have this potential? The more open we become and the higher our spirit calibrates, the easier it becomes for one to open up to receiving love. We literally become Love. We attract it and it flows freely to us.

As human beings we have difficulty “knowing” love in the Universal sense. We are blinded by life’s illusions which have nothing to do with true love. When we come to know Love’s truth, however, we become prepared to live in the present moment with love. While cherishing one’s love moment to moment, we are incapable of wasting love, nor regretting we have loved. We also realize love, like life, is a changeling. It grows, expands, and flows, like our Eternal Self. Love and life are one and the same, ever-changing within our everlasting. Human barriers fall and the power that Infinite love generates is held for eternity by the Presence of Divine Love.

Tao

Published on November 21, 2005

Tao or Dao refers to a Chinese character that was of pivotal meaning in ancient Chinese philosophy and religion. Tao is central to Taoism, but Confucianism also refers to it. Most debates between proponents of one of the Hundred Schools of Thought could be summarized in the simple question: who is closer to the Tao, or, in other words, whose “Tao” is the most powerful? As used in modern spoken and written Chinese, Tao has a wide scope of usage and meaning. Depending on context, the character 道 ‘Tao’ may be rendered as religion, morality, duty, knowledge, rationality, ultimate truth, path, or taste. Its semantics vary widely depending on the context. Tao is generally translated into English as “The Way”.

The philosophic and religious use of the character can be analyzed in two main segments: one meaning is “doctrine” or “discourse”; every school owns and defends a specific Tao or discourse about doctrine. In the other meaning, there is the ‘Great Tao’, that is the source of and guiding principle behind all the processes of the universe. Beyond being and non-being, prior to space and time, Tao is the intelligent ordering principle behind the unceasing flow of change in the natural world. In this sense Tao gains great cosmological and metaphysical significance comparable to the Judaeo-Christian concept of God (albeit stripped of anthropomorphic characteristics); the Greek concept of the logos; or the Dharma in Indian religions.

The nature and meaning of the Tao received its first full exposition in the Tao Te Ching of Laozi, a work which along with those of Confucius and Mencius would have a far-reaching effect on the intellectual, moral and religious life of the Chinese people. Although a book of practical wisdom in many ways, its profoundly metaphysical character was unique among the prevailing forms of thought in China at that time. The religion and philosophy based on the teaching of Laozi and his successor Zhuangzi is known in English as “Taoism.” Even if often said to be undefinable and unexplainable with words (even Chinese ones), the present article focuses on the Tao of Taoism.

Some characteristics of Tao
The Tao is the main theme discussed in the Tao Te Ching, an ancient Chinese scripture attributed to Laozi. This book does not specifically define what the Tao is; it affirms that in the first sentence, “The Tao that can be told of is not an Unvarying Tao” (tr. Waley, modified). Instead, it points to some characteristics of what could be understood as being the Tao. Below are some excerpts from the book.

Tao as the origin of things: “Tao begets one; One begets two; Two begets three; Three begets the myriad creatures.” (TTC 42, tr. Lau, modified)
Tao as an inexhaustible nothingness: “The Way is like an empty vessel / That yet may be drawn from / Without ever needing to be filled.” (TTC 4, tr. Waley)
Tao is omnipotent: “What Tao plants cannot be plucked, what Tao clasps, cannot slip.” (TTC 54, tr. Waley)
In the Yi Jing, a sentence closely relates Tao to Yin-Yang, asserting that “one (phase of) Yin, one (phase of) Yang, is what is called the Tao”. Being thus placed at the conjunction of Yin and Yang alternance, Tao can be understood as the continuity principle that underlies the constant evolution of the world.

A perhaps closest approximation in relatively common usage to the Tao may be Logos in the Christian religious sense: “In the beginning was the Word (literally from the Greek, “Logos”), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Moreover, in the words of Pope Ratzinger, “Christianity is the religion of Logos”…providing a fundamental point of commonality with Taoism when the Tao is considered to be ‘like’ — if not, in fact, identical to — the Logos or Word.

Tao in the Tao Te Ching
Tao is refered to in many ways in the Tao Te Ching. There are different shades of meanings in the various translations of this great work, which, with over 100 translations, is perhaps the most translated Chinese text in the English language. Here is one translation of the first stanza, describing Tao:

The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao;
The name that can be named is not the eternal name.
The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth.
The named is the mother of ten thousand things.
Ever desireless, one can see the mystery.
Ever desiring, one can see the manifestations.
These two spring from the same source but differ in name;
this appears as darkness.
Darkness within darkness.
The gate to all mystery.
—(Gia-Fu Feng & Jane English, 1972).

Examples of Tao as path
In the Japanese tradition, it is thought that any human activity, when engaged without reservations and in harmony with the Tao, can become a path to awakening. Some examples of such otherwise ordinary activities raised to the intensity of a spiritual path are:

Aikido - the Way of harmony and spiritual energy (especially as expressed through martial arts)
Bushido - the Way of warriorship
Chado - the Way of tea (best know through the Tea ceremony)
Judo - the Way of supleness
Kendo - the Way of the sword
Kodo - the Way of incense
Kyudo - the Way of the bow (also known in the West as Zen archery)
Shudo - the Way of men (the Japanese pederastic tradition)
Tae Kwon Do - the Way of hands and feet (of Korean origin)

Dr. David Hawkins

Published on November 13, 2005

These are all Amazon reviews by a few of the people who have read Dr. David Hawkins latest book, Truth vs. Falsehood. I am in total concurrence with all these 5 star reviews. I have read all of Dr. Hawkins published works as well as seen or heard all of his lectures starting in 2002 on the subject of The Calibrations of the Levels of Human Consciousness. Long before these books were made public, Dr. Hawkins had been sharing his discoveries on this subject with heads of state in order to find the Truth on important issues. Now for the first time Truth stands unchallenged. In the past decade many of us have become familiar with the Doctor’s works, and use them in our daily lives. I’m certain in the decades to come and long after this generation has left the planet, The Calibrations of The Levels of Human Consciousness will stand alone as The most brilliant and important discovery of humankind. Look for forthcoming books by Dr. Hawkins and visit his new website (posted under links) for more information.

It was with this background that I eagerly devoured this newest book. Even with this familiarity, the book far exceeded my expectations. There are those who mouth the aphorism: “The Truth will set you free” and those who try to live it. Since it has been impossible until now to know what is and what is not true, it has been difficult to distinguish the talkers from the doers. No more. The wheat can easily be separated from the chaff. Only those interested in the wheat will get what this book is all about.

This is a “must read” for every statesman, jurist, policy maker, diplomat and university president. This book lays the groundwork for the development of a true science of diplomacy that will allow us to develop laws, policies and programs that are likely to be constructive rather than destructive. As a result we can avoid the blunders of the past that have cost so much in human life and suffering.

This is a “must read” for physicians, psychiatrists, and psychologists. A more compassionate understanding of the human condition will allow us to reclaim our role as healers rather than technicians. Our patients will benefit.

This is a “must read” for religious leaders with one caveat. This book resolves ages old spiritual conundrums that have served to separate rather than unite the world’s major religions. If you are an avid religionist with inflexible religious beliefs, then you had best avoid this book. If you are a part of a religion that emphasizes guilt, shame, hell, and damnation but somehow find this oppressive, then this will be a truly liberating experience - for you and for all you serve.

I am convinced that we are at a major branch point in human history. Very often this is only realized in hindsight. It could take generations before the impact of Dr. Hawkins’ work is truly appreciated. I hope it happens faster than that, however.

Buy it. Read it. The sooner you’re set free, the sooner we all benefit.
Timothy P. Gray MD (Riverside, CA.)

When I first read Dr. Hawkins’ first book, “Power Vs Force”, it changed my life. I had been using Applied Kinesiology techniques in a clinical setting, but the calibration of truth that was demonstrated expanded my paradigm. Ever since then there has been less guesswork and wrong turns in my life because as often as possible I now use kinesiological testing to point me in the direction of my highest possible choice and truth.

“Truth Vs Falsehood” is a continuation and expansion of “Power Vs Force”. Dr. Hawkins touches on many subjects and lists their calibrated numbers right in tables in the book with explanations in the following paragraphs. Topics that are covered include social structures and problems, countries and politics, war, spirituality and religion, as well as a history of man’s evolution of consciousness to the present day. Anyone who picks up this book and reads it with interest and an open mind will have some points of view changed.

As always, I am impressed with Dr. Hawkins’ level of scientific and spiritual knowledge, wisdom and creativity. This book, like his others, shifted my outlook on many aspects of life. I was surprised how thoroughly I enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to make a difference in their life or the life of others.
Dr. Robert Ciprian (Portland OR.)

Awesome and astonishing are my reactions to this large undertaking, comprehensive and infinite in scope. Truth vs Falsehood goes even farther in describing consciousness and the illusions of appearance and perception than in the previous books. Man’s history has been governed by the unconscious ego manifesting as duality and the belief in causality. The science of truth emerged with Power vs Force in 1995, the first book of the trilogy. Those books are stepping stones to the magnificent TvsF. Sections I & IV are an ever expanding & illuminating discourse on truth and higher consciousness which streams effortlessly from Dr. Hawkins. Sections II & III pertain to all the aspects of daily life of society and America & the condition of the World. Included are many illustrations and the guidelines to the muscle testing method and as each chapter is calibrated, the book is self audited. Also, calibrations are listed for art, music, science, over 200 movies, places, politics, philosophies, schools, industries, organizations and events from antiquity to the present. The values of the listed calibrations themselves are not the author’s own opinions but are the results of the research. His concepts of truth and consciousness arise from his own inner Knowingness, and kinesiology only served to confirm his realizations. To avoid confusion, all information is presented in context. This book has been eagerly awaited but surpasses all expectations. Yet those new to this subject may be skeptical and taken aback but i am very impressed with how every consideration has been tactfully made to avoid offending the sensitivities of readers. This big research has now been accomplished which eliminates the need for others to do it, however kinesiology can be learned although not mastered in a fortnight. This book can serve as a reference to almost every facet of life except for personal matters and research projects. Truth is no longer elusive and for those open to this subject matter, Enjoy!
Howard S. Gay Jr. (San Diego, CA.)

Everyone has had an intuitive moment…the gut feeling about something, a sense, knowingness without words. For those who, like myself, have sought to understand the process of intuition, consciousness, life force, Dr. David Hawkins’ first book, “Power vs Force,” elucidated the link between the unseen, non-linear, with modern science. From that basis, Hawkins now lucidly brings forth the link between consciousness and the world in his new book, “Truth vs Falsehood.” Hawkins presents a synthesis of the coherence of the multi-faceted world that surrounds us, i.e. the hard sciences, medicine, geopolitics, history, economics, religion, the arts, etc. The framework, the underlying thread is consciousness, from which springs forth the world as we see it. Hawkins looks at the nature of life itself, traces life from before the protozoa to modern times. The process of the expression of consciousness in its infinite variations is explained, from a fleeting semi-conscious thought, intention, the purr of a kitty cat, to the more palpable expressions such as the stock market, internet search engines, suicide bombers, political agendas. As the book unfolds, it dawns upon the reader that Hawkins’ synthesis is all encompassing in scope, yet ultimately simple and elegant. For this reader, a scientist/clinician, the elegance of Hawkins’ synthesis is breathtaking. It is as if one is reading and seeing ourselves through the eyes of Divinity. There are no more issues, no more questions. All issues, controversies become subsumed in the field of consciousness. Life is explained.

For those who have been seeking a “unified theory of everything”, this is it. It is not “theory”, it is Truth.

Piggy Bank

You may remember in The Power of Kabbalah the reference I made to the shadow and the hand (pg. 30, “Chasing Our Shadows”). The basic concept is that we spend so much of our lives trying to move the shadow when we need to focus on moving the hand that creates the shadow.

This is especially true in relationships (romantic, family, friendships, work). We’re constantly trying to fix, correct, and change the other person. This is an exercise in futility.

The physical body (which includes the emotions and the intellect) is only the one percent manifestation of the 99 percent. When we care about someone, it’s not enough to love them physically or emotionally. We need to be in a constant state of recognizing the Light within them.

Rav Yehuda Ashlag, the great 20th-century kabbalist and founder of The Kabbalah Centre, writes that love that depends on something disappears when that something disappears. In other words, love based on physical attraction or social status (or any other condition) vanishes when that condition is no longer present.

What’s the message here? If we don’t love the Light within the other person, we don’t actually love the other person.

But wait, it goes deeper.

Rav Ashlag goes on to say that the whole institution of love was created as a training ground for us to learn how to love the Light force of the Creator.

I think that is one of the most beautiful things I have ever learned. Think about it. What is the thing that shakes, rattles, and rolls us more than anything? It’s love, right? For most of us, when we don’t have love, we feel like we don’t have anything at all. We’re especially in touch with this emptiness when a relationship ends.

But the secret is, loving another person is not the goal—it is the means by which we achieve the goal. And again, the goal is to love the Light of the Creator, not only in another person, but in everything.

Think about your favorite place in nature. You know that peace that comes over you when you’re absorbed in the beauty? Or the thrill of biting into your favorite dish? In those moments, you are extracting Light from those physical delights.

But here’s the kicker—it’s easy to connect to the Light in those moments because you’re getting something out of the one percent and the 99 percent. The real test is when a co-worker pushes your buttons and you want to reach into their cubicle and choke them. Or when the parking attendant shows up one minute before you can put another quarter in the meter. Or when someone you trusted breaks your heart.

If you can manage to see the Light in these people—well, that’s what the kabbalists call true love.

A great exercise for this week is to open a spiritual piggy bank for someone in your life.

Work on contributing pennies to this bank every day by doing something nice for them, by being considerate of their feelings. Avoid taking pennies out by resisting being irritable or self-centered with them.

Imagine that the other person is involved with this game, too, that their “deposits” and “withdrawals” also affect the little piggy. When you notice a withdrawal on their part, don’t criticize them. Instead, YOU make the effort to make another deposit.

In the big picture, this exercise is about creating unity with the Light. If you consistently work to keep your piggy full, so too will your heart be filled—with love, joy, confidence, and all things Light.

All the Best,
Yehuda

The Galapagos, Macchu Picchu, Tracy and Me

Published on

My daughter Tracy and I just returned from an incredibly beautiful trip to Macchu Picchu and The Galapagos Islands. We also had the miraculous good fortune to witness the eruption of the Caldera(volcano) on the island of Isabela in the Galapagos chain, that had been dormant for over 40 years. Since all of life is an unfoldment to me, I used this an an opportunity to use the volcanic eruption as a metaphor for life.

The volcano turned from a hot charcoal ash spewing from the top of the mountain, to red hot lava shooting hundreds of feet in the air coming back down upon itself, only to burst forth with increasing vigor. It was nature in all it’s wonder, awesome and unleashed; No reason, just being what it was…a volcano, or caldera as the natives call it. There was no resistance to being. Free flowing, hot, orange, molten rock pushing upward toward the sky and flowing gracefully down the mountainside through cracks and crevices, finding it’s way to the sea.

What struck me was the phrase, “Go with the flow”. So simple a catch phrase, but with much more meaning than we give it credit for. We love to fight the flow of our lives. We resist and try to change the direction. We struggle against the events of our existance, wanting things to go our way, enlarging our struggle as we go. How are we to “go with the flow” as our lives erupt all around us?

Going with the flow…one of the hardest things for us to keep in mind on a daily or even moment to moment basis, is actually a very Zenlike state. To be one with the universe…no resistance to outcomes. Taking in everything in our lives as the way it is, and seeing the perfection of all of it. Surrendering to God and The Divine Universal flow of existance is the only way to keep mindful of the fact that life has things in store for us regardless of the plans we make. Allowing and trusting our very existance, enjoying the pleasures of life, as well as seeing the lessons and karmic theater in the pain, also. Being, without resisting, and living life as a prayer.

So it was at Macchu Picchu for me, as I stood at the ruins on top of the Andes and watched the sky clear and a ray of sunlight burst through to shine on the mountainside, flooding the site with light so clearly I could feel the Divine Presence everywhere all at once. It was like this here, and in my own life, and I wouldn’t have changed a moment of it.

I bid a bittersweet farewell on our return from the Galapagos and Macchu Picchu, to our fellow travelers from all over the world with whom we had become fast friends. I remembered the baby Orca playing peek a boo with us as we floated alongside in our small ponga (boat), and the many sea turtles, sea lions, birds of a thousand species, and the Iguanas. I thought about the bus ride up the steep mountain to Macchu Picchu and all the breathtaking sites of Peru, and the hospitality of the families that invited us to their homes for lunches and dinners.

The fiery sunset on the last flight home reminded me of the sunsets we’d seen and the ones yet to come. I said a silent thank you for the mystery of life and for the everpresent beauty of it all, and sat back, closed my eyes and fell into sleep.
